Limitation and potential

At one point does one come to accept one’s limitations and be open to one’s potential?  Both are very contradictory to one another.  Let me enlighten you in a different way.

When does a young person taught that he could be next Bill Gates, that he too could live a swank’s lifestyle, that he could also change the world, come to accept that he won’t make it and thus have to find his own path?

When does a young person fed in the head that with higher education he can command higher education, that with ambition he can become the CEO, that with hardwork he can generate multifold profit, come to accept that it might have been true for some people but not him or her?

When does a young person bombarded with so many images of beauty on the screens, thinking he or she could get the most eligible person as spouse, thinking tha buying the best fasion could make him or her desirable, thinking that being thin the best way, come to accept that life is not a movie?

On the other extreme, when does a person wake up to the reality that he has a destiny awaiting him.  It might be to start a company, to become the CEO or to change the community’s certain malpractice?

When does a person wake up to the fact that he is special , that he has gift that no other have?

When does a person wakes up to the call of his heart telling him to cross the self-imposed lines he made?

Life is a contradiction in itself.

I’ve lived both ends of this debacle of the mind.  By now i am good at separating illusionary thinking with reality-based thinking and closed thinking with open thinking.

Well it is a skill we all need to polish.  Best of luck.
