Once upon a time, at the beginning of the new world cycle, Brahma and Saraswati, gave Manu and his wife Manasi responsibility to build the world from scratch.  The creation would be built in three stages: nature, then population and finally karma.  To put this creation in place, Manu and Manasi gave birth to six children, 3 daughters and 3 sons.  Once the first stage would be completed, Manu and Manasi will give birth to animals and the human race in order to fulfill the remaining two stages of the creation.

The six children of Manu and Manasi were, from eldest to youngest, Agyar, Wakita, Anahata, Mani, Swadita and Mulla.  Each of the six children had special powers since they had a special destiny to fulfill. Mulla commanded the earth elements and he could make mountains rise and fall.  Swadita commanded the water element and she could make rivers, oceans and lakes.  Mani commanded the fire element and he could make fire, volcanoes anywhere.  Anahata controlled the air element and she could blow anything with wind.  Agyar commanded the will of the nature and thus he could make anything happen.  Wakita had a special power too. She commanded sound and she could win the minds and hearts of people with her speech.

In the first stage of the creation, everyone was busy.  However, Wakita found herself ridiculed because she tried to convince the earth to move and form mountains, the lakes to flow and rain to fall, the mantle below the earth to heat up, the wind to blow in seasonal and regional patterns and always smiled and thanked nature for carrying on with Manu and Manasi’s grand design of the world.  Mulla told Wakita, “You are so useless: can you not do some real work like I am doing?  I move mountains with the strength of my arms. Go I don’t need your silly sound powers.” This make Wakita sad.  Swadita told Wakita, “You are so weak: lakes don’t break their walls to let their waters out because of your request.  They do so because of fear of my legs which break their walls anyway.”  This made Wakita confused.  Mani told Wakita, “You have no guts:  it takes courage to deal with the earth’s mantle not kind and encouraging words.”  This made Wakita angry.

Anahata told Wakita, “You are so petty: winds are grand, they don’t need your motivation.”  This made Wakita shocked.  Finally Agyar told Wakita, “You are wasting your life: this creation doesn’t need you since it follows my orders whatever it is.”  This made Wakita afraid.

Wakita thus stopped convincing the five elements and was about to jump from a cliff when Manu and Manasi came and  to her, “Dearest daughter, do not give up so early.  Don’t fall into the illusion of what your brothers and sisters have said to you.  What they said to you may be true but only for the first stage of the creation.  Today they are intoxicated with pride, 1.8 billion years later their pride will shatter like a ice fallen on rock.  Then Wakita, all will seek your help and with your help the two remaining stages of creation will be completed and we may all go back to heaven until the next world cycle.  We, Manu and Manasi, do not give birth to anyone without a purpose, all that is born has a purpose.  Only some find it early and others find it late.  So do not be sad, or confused, or angry, or shocked or afraid.  Instead have faith in yourself and in us.” Having spoken, Manu and Manasi left Wakita on her own.  She spent 1.8 billion years in solitude performing great sacrifices, educating herself with the help of invisible teachers.

In this way 1.8 billion years passed, the five children of Manu and Manasi completed the first stage of creation that we now know as nature: the mountains, the forests, the volcanoes, the oceans, rivers etc.  As part of the second stage of creation: population, Manu and Manasi gave birth to the animals.  The task was to engage them in karma like eating, killing, mating, and conquering.  This was the third stage of the creation: engage the population in karma that would ensure the continuity of creation without the intervention of Manu.  Slowly the five children of Manu and Manasi, started to find it difficult to make the animals engage in karma.  But Mani blew the fire of hunger inside them and they began eating and some began to kill others for food.  Swadita secreted liquids of lust in the animals and they began to mate.  Mulla, Anahata and Agyar filled them with ignorance that caused them to fight.  This was a grand success for the five children.  By then they had totally forgotten Wakita.

Now Manu and Manasi gave birth to humans.  The five children repeated the same formula on humans as on animals but nothing happened.  Instead they challenged the five children of Manu and Manasi by fasting, abstaining from sex, non-violence and non-craving.  They told the five children, “Do you think we are fools like animals. Do you think we don’t know that you want to make us your slaves?  We will perform great Yagya’s go to heaven before you.  We will not be engaged in Karma.”  The five children were sad, confused, shocked, angry and afraid like their sister Wakita had once been.   The humans did not listen the five children and instead went on to perform yagya’s that earned them billions of Punya’s (merits).  In this way, Manu and Manasi’s creation was about to come an end before it even started.

Distressed the five children turned to Manu and Manasi who told them to seek the help of Wakita.  They did so and Wakita accepted their request.  Having performed so much sacrifices and learning so much from her invisible teachers, her voice resonated with power, authority and confidence.  She inquired directly to the eldest Agyar, “What is the problem?  Did you not tell me 1.8 billions years ago that the creation follows your order whatever it is?”  Agyar dropped his eyes in shame.  Come I will show you how it is done and she went to where the humans resided.  Her invisible teacher had told her that the first step was to listen to the hearts of people.  So she talked to the humans and asked them to tell them about the progress they had made so far in their yagya’s.  The humans first could not believe that the first children of Manu and Manasi would ever care of their doings but soon were so excited to share their achievements.  While Mulla, Swadita and Mani just ignored whatever the humans were saying, Anahata and Agyar kept on criticizing the humans.  Wakita on the other hand appreciated whatever they said with smiles, ‘wow’s and nods.

Now the first contact was established. But in order to convince the humans to engage themselves in Karma so that the creation could carry on, required many more steps: knew Wakita.  However her five siblings thought it was enough and started to order them and showed them their weapons.  Any form of talk stopped.  The humans were more clever than animals: they knew that the five children could not kill them or harm them since they depended on humans to carry on the creation through karma.  So they mocked the five children and turned their backs.  Then Wakita said, “Mulla, Swadita, Mani, Ahahata, and Agyar, I order you to disarm yourselves.”  So they did and the humans agreed to talk.

Among humans some were men and some women, some young, some old, some liked the talk straight, others using hidden meanings, some liked to challenged, some didn’t like.  Wakita knew in which aspect she was weak and in which she was strong.  Because she had been in solitude for so long, she could relate herself to the older women more easily.  Luckily the chief of the humans was the oldest woman.  Then based on their temperament she assigned her siblings to deal with different genders of the humans and just establish friendly relationship with them.

As she was talking to the humans, suddenly she felt like something was sinking inside her.  Her speech became blur, she appeared angry.  The humans were scared and backed off.  The five siblings also could not understand.  Something was wrong with Wakita.  It seemed she was not at peace with herself.  Wakita remembered what her invisible teachers had told her and she excused herself.  They she found out the cause of her strange behavior which was the memory of the rejection by her five siblings.  She decided she had to forget and forgive them.  She did and she came back radiant and ready to talk.  The humans came back to talk.

After talking with the humans for 1008 years, Wakita finally understood what they really wanted.  They wanted some form of guarantee that they could find liberation from karma. They were ok with engaging in karma.  They had no plans to make Manu and Manasi fail.  It is just that they did not trust the five children who seemed to want to rob them of their billions of punya (merits).

Now Wakita waited the right time to make her speech that would make the creation really begin.  But first she read the minds and hearts of the humans.  Her five siblings said, “Wakita go ahead give your speech. What are you waiting for?”  She smiled at them and said, “I am waiting for them to be ready.” Agyar asked, “How will you know they are ready?”  Wakita replied, “When I see their bodies shake, and their eyes twinkle.”

In the meantime, she went back to her solitude and as her invisible teachers had advised asked herself, “Why am I giving this speech?”  She needed to be clear on the objective.  She answered to herself, “To re-start and complete this creation and give the humans what they really want. I want a win-win situation.”

Thus she assembled the humans and the five siblings and made a ground rule that whatever the outcome of the speech, their should be a win-win situation.  All signed on the stone containing the rule with trickles of their blood.

Win-win it was easier said than done: thought Wakita.  In order to prepare her speech, she traveled the whole world for ideas.  Then she got one when she was in what we now know as Manang.  Thus she prepared her win-win speech.

The humans shook their bodies and their eyes twinkled.  Agyar went to find Wakita to tell her.  Wakita was ready to give her speech but before that she mentally did one exercise taught by her invisible teachers.  She closed her eyes, breathed and repeated to herself, “My intention in this speech in to attract the attention of humans in my speech, to develop their mind and lives, and to retain their interest in my message for eternity.”  Having done that she gave her speech.

“My dear friends, I have spent the last 1008 years with, trying to understand you.  After 1008 years living with you, I believe I have learnt to think like you. After 1008 years living with you, I believe I have earned the right to make you a proposition.  I want you to engage in karma like that of animals (eating, killing, mating and conquering).  But that would be an insult to your superior intelligence.  So I have gotten permission from Manu and Manasi to increase your scope of karma to engaging in education, economic, pleasure, and religious activities.  Through these karma you may even exceed to glory of the heavens.  But again it will depend on how involved you are in your karmas.

“After 1008 years living with you, I also know you want a guarantee to get back to heaven.  To this end I propose that you combine all the billions of punya (merit) you have earned so far and build a road from earth to the heavens. I have found ideal spot, which is in the highest place in the world today.

“After 1008 years living with you, I know you will accept my proposal.”

After this wonderful speech, all the humans said in one voice, “We Accept.”  And so the humans engaged in karma and the creation continued.  Also the road from earth to heaven was built.  Today we can still see the gate of that road from earth to heaven and it is now known to us as Swarga Dwari in Manang, Nepal.

Manu and Manasi then retired to the heavens waiting for the next world cycle.  The five children, Mulla, Swadita, Mani, Anahata and Agyar were rewarded for their achievements with all the pleasures of heaven.  Wakita was given even a bigger reward and she became one with the Devi Saraswati, mother of speech and Brama’s consort.  Today if people have difficulty talking they worship Saraswati who was thus Wakita in one of her Avatars.
