I am ashamed to be a Nepali

It  has become a Shame to be called a Nepali. The discredit goes to politicians who have made a mockery of democracy and the  abolition  of monarchy.

The satirical book of George orwell calld animal farm is right. The king was banished because he did not take care of the people. But the politilians are repeating the same mistakes:

  • This years national budget not declared
  • No development in infrastructure
  • Inability to form a government
  • Stopping  all projects as a bargaining chip to get commissions
  • Squandering nation’s money in  their fat Salaries and perks
  • Takinng the nation into a philosophical war instead a war against poverty, eConomic  stagnation , negative attitude: putting dust in the eyes of the people of the people so that they can go on looting the resources of the nation freely

So far they have escaped the  rod Of chastisment. But for how long?

We are ashamed to be their followers.  Somehow through the structure of democracy we have put them at the reign of the nation.

We should be ashmed to be such a Nepali that puts up with this madness that the people we have elected are keeping this nation.

I am ashamed of my inaction towards changing the circumstances of this nation.  Just backbiting at the office, or home or street won’t do.  It won’t also help making protests in the road.  Or even overthrowing the government.  The fire must come from within all of us.  I can’t speak anymore about it as my idea is not mature enough.  But suffice to say now that I am ashamed to be a Nepali of this quality that is able to do nothing to revert the collision to disaster that nepal is going towards.Â
